When We are Required to Release Information
According to the Act, there are three situations when we are required to release information:- If a minor child or elder is at risk of being abused or neglected, a therapist would be required to report that information to the appropriate agency to assure the safety of the child or elder.
- If someone presents an imminent risk of serious injury to themselves or are unable to care for themselves. In this case, the therapist would take action to assure safety.
- If there is a direct threat of serious harm to another person.
