As Assistant Director of Multicultural Student Affairs, Christine is responsible for developing, managing, and assessing programs and activities focusing on leadership and education. Some of her responsibilities include Asian-American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, JubilAsian, and developing new intercultural initiatives to further the personal development of all students. In addition, Christine works closely with MSA’s campus partners to enrich the Northwestern experience for Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) students. She advises many of our student groups, including the Asian Pacific American Coalition, South Asian Student Alliance, and Chinese Student Association.

Christine is originally from New Jersey, but has called Chicago home since 2008 when she moved to the area to complete a year of AmeriCorps service at City Year Chicago. She holds a B.A. in Neuroscience and Behavior from Wesleyan University, and an M.Ed in Youth Development from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to joining Northwestern, Christine worked for seven years at the Japanese American Citizens League, an Asian American civil rights organization, where she focused on anti-hate, education, and leadership programs. As a mixed-race, second-generation Japanese American, Christine is passionate about creating spaces that are inclusive and affirming of the diversity of lived experiences that comprise the APIDA community. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, knitting, and talking about Harry Potter.
