ALP is an intensive year-long program to develop the leadership and managerial skills of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional ability and academic promise.

Essential Skills for Leading Departments
The Essential Skills for Department Chairs lunch series equips department chairs with the knowledge and skills they need for success, including proactively working to enhance department culture and managing conflict to ensure the success and retention of faculty and staff, as well as of students.
New and Continuing Chairs Welcome Program
This program for new and continuing department chairs takes place annually before the start of classes in September. New chairs are introduced to essential resources, including the University Ombuds and the Faculty Wellness Program, and learn from a panel of experienced chairs in the morning. They are joined by continuing chairs for lunch and the afternoon session.
