SES partners with FGLI students – pronounced figly – who are first-generation, lower-income, and/or DACA/Undocumented. SES works with these students to foster identity development, navigate campus resources, and build community. Through campus-wide partnerships and advocacy, SES strives to build an inclusive Northwestern community that is welcoming, supportive, and accessible for all students.
A Note For Current Students
Dear FGLI and Undocumented/DACA Students –
I am writing to send love, light, and solidarity with all of you as we collectively navigate all that is happening our world. I encourage you all to remain calm and take care of yourselves and each other. Be kind, breathe, and uplift one another, even when emotions and stress levels are high. I want you to know that me and the entire SES team are working tirelessly to advocate and support all of you. We’re thinking about all of your identities and all of the supports and resources that you will need in the coming weeks.
Please know that we are communicating your needs with leadership. Make sure you closely read the email from last night – it contains information outlining resources around financial assistance, housing, health resources, and more.
If you haven’t reviewed that email, please be sure to do so at this link.
In the meantime, your wellness and care is at the center of all that we do as a team. As we continue planning, we will be in touch with more details regarding how to remain connected to each other and to our team in SES throughout this time of uncertainty. Lastly, I’m including a list of resources below that might be helpful.
With love and solidarity,
The SES Team
