Queer & Trans Empowerment Month

Queer & Trans Empowerment Month (nationally known as LGBT History Month) is celebrated every October at Northwestern University and recognizes the lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, and queer community. The university community host a variety of programs and events which aim to educate on LGBTQ issues and build community on campus.

Previous events have featured Janet Mock, Dark Matter, faculty film screenings, and community discussions on a variety of topics. We hope you will take part in this year's Queer & Trans Empowerment Month events.

In this month we turn to community and connectedness as we honor the nests that nurture us and the nests we build. Each nest unique and comprise of parts of the environments we are apart of. This year will include a mix of on-campus, off-campus and asynchronous activities.

Kink Klass with Leather Redux - Flogging 101
October 9th 3pm-4:30pm
Leather Archives & Museum, 6418 N Greenview Ave, Chicago, IL 60626
Leather Redux (LR) is just your friendly neighborhood Dominant leather lesbian from the 90s. She is probably the most romantic sadist you will ever know. She left kink and recently came back which is what "redux" means - - a return or rebirth. She has come back to kink and is not turning back.
As part of the leather tradition, service to the community is important to her and she does this by sharing and educating people where she can. If she's not teaching how to use floggers, she is sometimes teaching others about things such as meditation, knife play or fisting. LR loves teaching fisting so much that Master Lola Smiles gave her the moniker of the Mayor of Fist City - - if such a city existed, she would surely rule.
Kink education classes are free and open to everyone over the age of 18. Donations to support this work are always welcome. All genders, sexual orientations and experience levels are enthusiastically welcomed! Learn more here.
