The job families listed below have facilitated clearer role definition, differentiated levels of the same role, and clarified jobs and salary grade assignment. This partnership has resulted in:
- Improved consistency and uniformity of staff jobs across Northwestern
- Clearly defined career paths reflecting hierarchies of job responsibilities and job levels
- Standardized language for job accountabilities, knowledge, skills, education, and required experience, that facilitates consistency and equity in job leveling and salary grade assignment
- Salary grade alignment with the internal pay and external market pay practices
- Job titles consistent with associated job duties and responsibilities
